How to redesign the locker room equipment for an iconic sports club
Company brief description
Nearly 100 years of history El Centro Natación Helios is a sports and social club located in the center of Zaragoza. Founded in 1925, today it comprises 17 sports sections, over 1,500 federated athletes, and more than 8,000 users.
What problem needed to be solved?
Helios contacted us because they wanted to remodel part of the locker rooms in their sports center.
That specific area was equipped with old wooden lockers dating back more than 50 years, which had endured all this time but obviously required a replacement.
The client expressed interest in not significantly altering the way users had traditionally interacted with the locker. This is reflected in the size, internal layout of the locker, and the type of lock, as they wanted to keep the padlocked opening and closing system just as before.

What solution did MEGABLOK provide?
MEGABLOK proposed transitioning from a melamine locker (pure carpentry) to a phenolic model that is moisture-resistant and highly durable, combining corporate blue colors and adding a stainless steel component for padlock use.
The curious part of this project was the assembly, because nearly 2,000 lockers had to be carried disassembled up to a third floor and assembled right there. Quite a feat! The lockers were then arranged in multiple back-to-back rows.
